Australian Josh Brookes is the most successful rider on the current Bennetts BSB grid, celebrating over 50 race wins and two title victories with the first in 2015 and the most recent in 2020.
‘Bad Boy’ Brookes first raced in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2009, having started competing in his native Australia, winning domestic titles before moving onto the World stage in both the Superbike and Supersport classes.
Brookes had his first appearance in British Championship action in 2008, competing for Honda Racing in the Supersport class at the final round of the season, before joining the team in the Superbike class the following year.
Since then Brookes has also competed with several of the key manufacturers, finishing runner-up four times and has competed in every Showdown apart from 2016 when he had a season in the World Championship.
In 2020 Brookes claimed his second championship victory, taking control at the final round of the season at Brands Hatch, to win his first title with Paul Bird’s VisionTrack Ducati team, securing a second crown with a double victory.
Brookes had a difficult title defence, remaining with the PBM team for a further two seasons before switching to Faye Ho's FHO Racing Team for 2023, where he has returned to winning ways and remained with the team in 2024. A tough season, Brookes came close to top three finishes, but ultimately missed out on the podium but now faces a new challenge with DAO Racing as he returns to Honda machinery for 2025.
