Glenn Irwin comes from a competitive family of racers and he began his racing career competing back home in Northern Ireland before heading to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship paddock.
Glenn Irwin has progressed through the Bennetts BSB support classes to become a title contender in the premier class and he returns with Honda Racing for the 2021 campaign.
Glenn Irwin was a runner-up in the 2011 National Superstock 600 Championship, before celebrating title victory in the British Supersport Cup in 2012. He continued in the Supersport class, with a best championship finish of fourth place before progressing into Bennetts BSB in 2016 with PBM.
In his rookie campaign, he took two podiums and he remained with the team for the following season, although it was hampered by injury. Although the following year he claimed his best championship finish with the team, finishing third in the 2018 title fight.
A tough season in 2019 was soon a distant memory following an incredible year in 2020 when he joined Honda Racing UK in in the debut year for the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.
Glenn Irwin led the standings for the majority of the condensed season in 2020, celebrating a win and five podiums to finish the year in fourth place in the title standings.
