Gino Rea started competing in National Motocross before making the switch to circuit racing, competing in the European Superstock Championship, where he won the title in his third season in 2009.
Rea then went on to compete in the Supersport World Championship for two seasons, where he was a race winner and podium finisher.
The Tooting-born rider then continued his progression on the World stage with a move to the Moto2 World Championship, which included a podium finish at Sepang in 2012.
In 2015, Rea returned to the Supersport World Championship, taking sixth place in the overall standings and having secured a return to the podium during the season.
The following season Rea continued to fight for podium finishes in the Supersport class, finishing seventh in the overall standings before making his Bennetts British Superbike Championship debut a year later, in 2018 at Donington Park, where he ended the season as the highest placed rookie.
In 2019, Rea completed in a handful of Bennetts BSB races, but competed in the Endurance World Championship, something that he continues to do alongside his commitments in the British Championship.
Last season, Rea joined the Buildbase Suzuki team mid-way through the season, but despite that, he was able to end the season in twelfth place in the overall standings and with a best race result of fourth place.
