Macadam Triumph Factory Racing unveil four strong rider line up for Sportbike

20 January 2025

Triumph will expand their line-up to four riders in the 2024 Pirelli National Sportbike Championship, with Katie Hand and Jayden Martin remaining with the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team and are joined by new teammates Lewis Smart and Brodie Gawith.

The four young riders will be using Triumph Daytona 660 machines, the bike that won the inaugural championship title in 2024.

Martin visited many of the British circuits for the first time in 2024 and finished inside the top 10 multiple times including three top seven finishes. The 17-year-old Australian finished 11th overall in the championship.

Hand finished in the points multiple times in her first season on the 660 but unfortunately, broke her collarbone and missed several races, but made her return at the last round.

Bedfordshire rider Lewis Smart joins the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team after winning the 2024 National 600 Endurance series and finishing third in the 2024 Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.

Australian Brodie Gawith completes the line-up at Macadam Triumph Factory Racing. Gawith finished second in the Kawasaki British Superteen Championship and is ready for his debut on the Daytona 660.

Gawith said: “This will be my second year in the UK and first in this series. I hope to adapt to the new bike and class quickly, fight for podiums and aim for a strong finish in the overall standings.”

Martin added: “For 2025 my goals are to get more comfortable on the bike and tracks, to improve my set up to be more competitive and be in the front group battling for podiums. Last year was my learning year, so this year is my chance to show what I can do.”

Hand said: “I’m looking forward to the 2025 season on the Triumph as it’ll be my second. Everything is a little more settled down this year after 2024 being the first year of the sportbike class and the 660. I’m very excited to see my progression through the year and what we can do.”

Smart said: “I am really looking forward to this season with Triumph. It’s a new team and bike for me, and I’m excited to see what I can do. My main goal this year is to be on the top step in a race and finish in the top six in the championship.”

Steve Sargent, Triumph Motorcycles Chief Product Officer commented: “We are pleased that Jayden and Katie will once again contest the National Sportbike Championship and are very happy to welcome two new talented young riders Lewis and Brodie for 2025. Jayden and Katie now have a season of experience on the Daytona 660 under their belts and Lewis and Brodie are eager to get started and show what they can do after their strong seasons last year. The Daytona 660 proved its capabilities in the inaugural year of this thrilling new championship and we’re excited to go racing again this year.”

Dave Wadsworth, Macadam Triumph Factory Racing, Team Owner added: “For 2025, we have four talented young riders on the team. I am happy to say that Jayden and Katie are returning for their second year in the National Sportbike championship and we are excited to have two impressive new signings in Brodie and Lewis. Both of them have strong aspirations and are looking forward to jumping on the Daytona 660 and getting started and we can’t wait to see what they can do.”

Mick Hand, Macadam Triumph Factory Racing, Team Manager concluded: “We’re super excited for the 2025 season already. The Sportbike series is growing so fast and two new talented riders plus two returning riders give us the perfect balance within the team.

“Pre-season Spanish testing awaits the team which will give new riders and personnel a chance to get to grips with the Triumph 660, a championship winning bike. With what we learnt last season, hopefully we can hit the ground running this year. Everyone is eager to get going and put some laps in before the opening round at Oulton Park in May.”
