Scott Swann celebrated becoming the first winner of the new BSB Breakthrough Award at the Adelaide Irish Motorbike Awards in Belfast last night (Friday). The new award to honour the late Keith Farmer will be presented annually to a rider from Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland in memory of the four-time champion.
Northern Irish contender Swann will make his Bennetts BSB debut this season following a strong third place in last year’s Pirelli National Superstock Championship, claiming five wins and a further two podium finishes as the 21-year-old now looks ahead to his rookie season with Send My Bag Honda by IWR.
Meanwhile TAS Racing won the Team of the Year Award and Jack Kennedy claimed the Short Circuit Rider of the Year Award.
