07 April 2025

Glenn Irwin maintained his position at the top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship R&G Official Test times at Circuito de Navarra this morning (Monday), carving 0.797s off his fastest time of yesterday to remain 0.263s ahead of McAMS Racing Yamaha’s Danny Kent.

The leading pair were able to dip into the 1m:44s lap times for the first time during the test this morning, edging ahead at the top with the final afternoon session remaining before heading back to the final two UK tests at Donington Park and Oulton Park.

John McPhee continued his impressive debut by ending the morning third fastest on the times as he continues to get to grips with the MasterMac Honda ahead of his debut season, despite a crash at turn nine.

McPhee moved ahead of Tommy Bridewell this morning, who in turn despite a crash at turn 17 held off his Honda Racing UK teammate Andrew Irwin who completed the top five.

Leon Haslam had been running inside the top three earlier in the morning and he ended at lunchtime with the sixth fastest time as he adapts to the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing and his return to the Italian manufacturer.

Charlie Nesbitt was sixth fastest on the second of the MasterMac Hondas, with Rory Skinner completing the top eight for Cheshire Mouldings Ducati. Fraser Roger was ninth fastest, despite a crash for the TAG Honda rider just before the break for lunch. He was taken to the medical centre with finger lacerations.

Peter Hickman completed the top ten for 8TEN Racing BMW Motorrad as together with teammate Davey Todd the pair test in Superstock specification during this opening R&G Official Test.
