Irwin moves ahead by 0.017s to top day one of testing at Circuito de Navarra

Glenn Irwin and the Hager PBM Ducati team topped the opening day of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship R&G Official Test at Circuito de Navarra today (Sunday), holding off Danny Kent, who had set the pace this morning for McAMS Racing Yamaha with Honda Racing UK’s Tommy Bridewell completing the top three.

Glenn Irwin moved ahead by just 0.017s in the closing stages of the afternoon, edging out Kent, whilst Tommy Bridewell was just within 0.346s of his fierce rival ahead of tomorrow’s second and final day on track.

Andrew Irwin was 0.295s further adrift of his Honda Racing UK teammate, maintaining a position on the timesheets ahead of DAO Racing Honda’s Josh Brookes and the leading MasterMac Honda of Charlie Nesbitt.

Leon Haslam was seventh fastest on his debut with the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing team ahead of the debuting John McPhee with Fraser Rogers and Peter Hickman who completed the top ten.

Lewis Rollo meanwhile crashed during the morning session and was taken to the Medical Centre before he was sent to hospital for an x-ray and further precautionary checks to address pain in his lower back. He has been discharged this afternoon but will sit out the remainder of the test.
