Glenn Irwin upped the pace in the second Bennetts British Superbike Championship session at the R&G Official Test at Donington Park, firing the Hager PBM Ducati 0.344s ahead of reigning champion Kyle Ryde on the OMG Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha.
Irwin had moved to the top as the times tumbled before the threat of rain, with Bradley Ray moving into third fastest on the timesheets in the second session for the Raceways Yamaha team.
Andrew Irwin dropped to fourth in the closing stages as he led the Honda Racing UK charge with Josh Brookes and Max Cook completing the top six for DAO Racing Honda and AJN Steelstock Kawasaki respectively.
Christian Iddon was seventh on the times ahead of Leon Haslam, who had topped the opening session on the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing with rookie Scott Swann and Billy McConnell completing the top ten.
