2024 Bennetts British Superbike champion Kyle Ryde was welcomed pitch side at the City Ground on Saturday during Nottingham Forest’s Premier League clash with West Ham United.
Ryde, a Forest fan since birth, presented his Championship winning trophy to fellow fans at halftime as Forest continued their great start to the season. The team took a 3-0 win against West Ham, making it three wins on the bounce in the Premier League and lifting them to third in the table one point above Arsenal and six points behind leaders Liverpool.
Ryde claimed his first Bennetts British Superbike Championship title at Brands Hatch last month for the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing team, taking the title fight down to the wire against defending champion Tommy Bridewell to the final corner on the last lap of the season, winning by a single point.
Ryde said: “Taking my British Superbike Championship trophy out onto the City Ground was an unforgettable experience. It was an incredible feeling walking out in front of the 30,000+ fans and sharing my achievement with them.
“I’ve been a Forest fan for a long time, so to be able to watch them win 3-0, and take my trophy out onto the pitch was certainly a special moment and a memory that I will cherish forever. A huge thanks to Tommy, who organised it, and to the whole Nottingham Forest Football Team for accommodating me and making it happen.”
