Barnes set for Pirelli National Sportbike Championship return with Raceways Motorcycles

04 November 2024

Raceways Motorcycles has announced their long-term partnership with Ash Barnes will continue into 2025, with Barnes once again lining up on the Pirelli National Sportbike Championship grid aboard Steve Rodgers’ Raceways GYTR Pro Shop R7 Yamaha.

After a strong season in the inaugural year of the Championship, Barnes ended the year in fourth overall, having taken one victory and four further podium finishes over the season's 15 races.

2025 will mark the Lincolnshire rider’s fifth year with the Fleetwood-based dealer’s backing and with Yamaha, after contesting in the Junior Supersport Championship and the British Supersport Championship in years prior before making the jump to the new class this year.

Barnes said: “I’m really happy to remain with Steve and the Raceways Team. It will be my fifth season with their support, and I can’t wait to continue the collaboration in 2025. We had a good 2024, finishing as top R7 rider and fourth overall, picking up a win and a few podiums on the way. We have something to aim for going into 2025 and look to improve those results and try get a bit closer to the top!”

Steve Rodgers commented: “We enjoyed the 2024 season as we continue to maintain our presence within the British Superbike Championship paddock. We always said at the end of the Raceways-run McAMS Yamaha British Superbike Team that we would remain involved in racing, and there’s nobody better than the partnership with Ash and the Yamaha R7 to continue that.

"We learned a lot over the 2024 season and gradually got closer to the front, eventually winning a race at Thruxton and taking four podiums over the year. He’s a talented young rider and we’ve seen how the new Sportbike class suits him well. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve on the R7 again next year.”
