Nikki Coates will return to the BMW F 900 R Cup next season, launching his new LDC BMW by FPF Racing team, lining up with four bikes for the 2025 campaign.
Coates, who announced his return at Motorcycle Live, will bring a line-up of Irish and Northern Irish riders, including two new riders to the Cup, supported by Frimley Pits Fishery and title sponsor LDC Electrical. The team will get their first opportunity to test with their partner Ernie Coates Track Days in Spain at the start of March.
Coates finished third in the 2024 title fight, celebrating three Main Event victories, three heat race wins and a further three second place finishes in the Heat Races.
Coates said: “I had two enjoyable seasons at Team AOR, but the time felt right to pursue an ambition of running my own team. I'm grateful to have the support of a lot of really good people and I feel it will be a good mix to challenge for the title in 2025.
“2024 was an enjoyable year; I had wins and the fastest lap at six of the nine rounds. I'm riding better than I ever have, and we know we have the potential to fight for the championship. Hopefully we can continue that form into 2025.”
