05 May 2024

The 2024 Pirelli National Superstock Championship kicks off the weekend at Oulton Park featuring a new associate sponsor, Moneybarn, one of the UK’s leading lenders of specialist car, van, and motorbike finance, as a new champion is set to be crowned.

The Championship calendar features 18 races across eleven rounds including a showcase event at this year’s Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone, becoming a support race to the MotoGP World Championship. The August event will also see the Monster Energy supported FHO Racing BMW Motorrad Team lining up on the grid as double Bennetts BSB champion Josh Brookes and Peter Hickman will take on the established championship contenders as wildcards in the two races.

Monster Energy supported rider John McGuinness will also join the grid for the weekend as he returns to the Superstock class for the Monster Energy British Grand Prix races at Silverstone.

The permanent 2024 entry list features six manufacturers as Honda bid for consecutive titles, with opposition from BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprilia.

2022 Pirelli National Superstock champion Davey Todd returns to fight for a second title this season, after experiencing Superbike last year, he moved to the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad team over the winter to bid for glory on the BMW M 1000 RR.

Todd will face tough opposition if he is to seal a second crown; Joe Talbot is back with the JR Performance Racing Honda team as he returns as the leading rider from last year’s championship standings, claiming fourth place overall after a campaign including two race wins and a further three podium finishes.

Josh Owens meanwhile is gearing up to display the capabilities of the IN Competition SENCAT Aprilia; having won British titles before in both the former 125GP class and most recently in GP2, he is hunting a Superstock Championship to his tally.

The grid also includes some established Superstock riders who have previously had success in the class including Joe Sheldon-Shaw (MAD Racing Kawasaki), David Allingham (Steven McShane BMW), Simon Reid (Cumins by Team IWR Honda), Matt Truelove (TAG Honda) and Scott Swann (Swann Racing Honda).

Tom Ward also lines up this weekend as he deputises for Sam Cox as he continues his recovery from a pre-season testing injury on the Amanda Marine Cables Racing Honda whilst this weekend will also see wildcard entries from road racing legends John McGuinness (Honda Racing UK) and Ian Hutchinson (Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles Honda).
