Italy’s Edoardo Colombi beat veteran Richard Cooper to the first ever Pirelli National Sportbike pole at Oulton Park, with a hot lap of 1min 42.788secs.
Aboard the Gradara Corse Asd Aprilia, Colombi beat his rival by 0.090secs, with Rhys Stephenson third.
Aaron Silvester will head the second row in fourth place while Thomas Strudwick will line up fifth.
