As we reach Christmas and the New Year beckon, MSVR would like to thank everyone who has played a part and supported the incredible 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season from across the world.
It was a tremendous season and we would like to thank all of fans around the globe for their unwavering support and passion, from those who witnessed the action live trackside in 2024, and the tens of millions of fans who watched the action through our live and highlights broadcast packages on television. We hope that you enjoyed the 2024 season as much as we did, and thank you for getting involved with your interaction through our social media channels.
Each year, it is always difficult to imagine topping some of the previous seasons, but 2024 once again delivered some spectacular races, not just in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, but also across the support classes. We thank the riders and teams across the series who continue to deliver the entertainment and provide incredible action at every round. Their continued strive for glory with their commitment and professionalism continue to make Bennetts BSB one of the most respected and leading motorsport championships on the planet.
After the title going down to the wire in spectacular style in recent seasons, 2024 didn’t disappoint and the final two laps of the championship battle are certainly ones that will never be forgotten. Kyle Ryde and Tommy Bridewell rode like everything depended on those last laps and there is no other motorsport series this year that had such an intense and thrilling title decider.
For OMG Racing, they regained their title they last won in 2022 with Bradley Ray, and for Kyle Ryde it was a career goal achieved as he denied Tommy Bridewell the chance to become the first rider in history to win consecutive titles for different manufacturers by just a single point after 32 races. It was simply astonishing to witness and will remain as one of the most talked about deciders in history.
The competition is always fierce in Bennetts BSB, but impressively there were eight different race winning teams during the 2024 season and even more remarkably, every manufacturer celebrated a podium finish with a total of 12 teams claiming top three results! This continues to demonstrate the continued strength of the championship and the level of competition derived from the series technical regulations.
Over the season there were nine different race winners and a further seven podium finishers, showing the level of competition at Bennetts BSB. There was also some fantastic racing in the support classes and we also toast all of our support class champions.
Bennetts continue to be a valued title sponsor of the series and we are delighted that we continue our partnership with them into 2025, as they remain the most dedicated title sponsor in the championship history. We thank them for their commitment to the series, as they broke more records this season for the number of experiences they delivered, bringing fans closer to the action throughout the season through their continued Bennetts BikeSocial membership programme.
Our sincere appreciation goes out to all of our commercial and media partners, who are an integral part of the series.
The Bennetts BSB show would simply not be possible without the race organisation officials, the dedication and skills of the Racesafe marshals and our outstanding medical team.
Now we look ahead to 2025 with incredible anticipation; we have Kyle Ryde returning to defend his title with OMG Racing, alongside previous champions Tommy Bridewell, Bradley Ray, Josh Brookes and Leon Haslam. We also have Moto3 World Championship race winner John McPhee set to make his debut with no less than 13 race winners on the grid when the season gets underway with the opening test at Circuito de Navarra on April 6 -7, before the opening round at Oulton Park on the May Bank Holiday weekend (May 3/4/5).
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
