Reigning Bennetts British Superbike champion Tommy Bridewell heads the title chase into his home round of Thruxton this weekend as the Honda Racing UK rider bids to extend his 19-point advantage at the top of the standings.
Bridewell has been consistently scoring podium finishes this season, claiming eleven podiums from seventeen races and is feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s homecoming.
Bridewell said: “I’m excited to head to Thruxton for my home round, it’s such a unique circuit and it is always about being patient and managing the tyre, often it’s not always the fastest that wins the race, but the person who can maintain the lowest average lap speed. So in some ways it can be quite a tactical race, but I think the Honda will be good there.
“There is going to be a lot of work to get through this weekend because we have two different tyre compounds to work with in the different race distances, so we will need to get a solid setup working for both, which in truth, means we have a lot to get through in practice. The target is to go out and enjoy my home race and work hard with the team to maximise our potential.”
