Vickers aiming to increase his winning streak at Cadwell Park

23 August 2024

Ryan Vickers has rapidly become the rider with a target on his back in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider is ready to try and continue his momentum at Cadwell Park this Bank Holiday weekend (24/25/26 August).

Vickers has won five of the past six races and arrives at the final round before the Showdown holding fifth place in the standings. The OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing rider has bounced back from two non-points scoring rounds at Donington Park and Knockhill to close in on his rivals ahead of him after a recent run of stunning form.

Vickers said: “I am extremely excited for Cadwell Park as it is probably my favourite circuit for many different reasons, the fans are always amazing there and it’s always a great atmosphere, the circuit is so unique and it is the one time of the year I actually get to jump my Superbike! I think with my motocross background I find that quite enjoyable and I look forward to it every lap.

“It’s nice that I am fast at Cadwell as well and I have always had great results there, ever since my Kawasaki days with Lee Hardy I have shown some great potential there. I did the first ever 1m:25s lap and getting pole position last year, podium in the first race. I did unfortunately crash out of the second race from the lead, but we were extremely strong and it was just one of those things.

“This year we have found a lot with the bike, I have improved a lot and I really can’t wait for this weekend and try the bike that we have developed this year. I am sure we are going to have a really strong weekend. I hope to see everyone there and hopefully we will be fighting for all three victories.”
