Monster Energy Party in the Park celebrates ‘Cadwell 90’

16 August 2024

The August Bank Holiday weekend is renowned as the ‘Party in the Park’ as tens of thousands of fans descend on Lincolnshire for the annual Bennetts British Superbike Championship event. This year the circuit celebrates its 90th anniversary and the landmark season will feature the Monster Energy ‘Cadwell 90’ feature race on Monday.

As the Showdown rapidly approaches, Cadwell Park marks the final round of the Main Season with Bank Holiday Monday’s final 20-lap race the last battle before the points tally increases across the crucial final three title-deciding rounds.

The final race of the weekend at Cadwell Park has been an omen in the recent seasons; as not only did the race three winner etch their name in the history books for a race victory but both Tommy Bridewell last year, and Bradley Ray in 2022, went on to lift the title in the season finale at Brands Hatch.

It wasn’t just in those two seasons either when victory in the final race of the weekend at Cadwell Park was also won by the eventual champion that season. Leon Haslam celebrated the win in his championship-winning year in 2018, whilst Josh Brookes in 2015, Alex Lowes in 2013, Tommy Hill in 2011 and Ryuichi Kiyonari in 2010 also completed the feat.

Bennetts British Superbike Championship Series Director Stuart Higgs commented: “Cadwell Park remains one of the fans’ favourite on the calendar and this year we mark the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the circuit with the Monster Energy ‘Cadwell 90’ race. The race is the final of the Main Season and there will be a Monster looking trophy for the winner!”
