Leon Haslam topped the times in the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship action of the 2024 season, setting the fastest lap of session one in the R&G Official Test at Donington Park on the ROKiT Haslam Racing BMW Motorrad by 0.061s.
Haslam moved back into the leading position on his final lap of the session ahead of the OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing pairing of Kyle Ryde and Ryan Vickers who completed the top three, cementing their positions in the final minutes of the session.
Josh Brookes was fourth fastest on the leading FHO Racing BMW Motorrad machine, narrowly ahead of the Irwin brothers with Glenn and Andrew Irwin completing the top five respectively.
Danny Buchan had a strong return to Kawasaki in seventh position, moving ahead of reigning champion Tommy Bridewell who begins his title defence after moving to the Honda Racing UK team.
Rory Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings BMW Motorrad and Christian Iddon on the Oxford Products Racing Ducati completed the top ten.
