INCompetition Sencat Aprilia Racing set for 2024 season

05 April 2024

The INCompetition team have unveiled their full team line up ahead of the opening Bennetts British Superbike Championship Official Test at Donington Park today, announcing a new title sponsor with Sencat.

INCompetition will field a three-rider line-up led by Lewis Rollo in the BSB Pathway class as he enters his fourth season with the team alongside Josh Owens in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship. Joining them is Freddie Barnes, in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship on a Yamaha R6.

Rollo said: “After coming back ‘home’ in 2023 to the INCompetition family team and having a fantastic year in the Superstock class, finishing in sixth overall. We continued to improve and make steps forward throughout the year and we feel now is the right time to move up a class and the Pathway Championship came at the perfect time.

“I’m really pleased to finally be making this step up after dreaming about it since being a wee lad and even happier that it will be with the INCompetition Sencat team on the Aprilia. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Ian, Myra, Chris and all my personal and team sponsors for making this possible.”

Owens said: “I’m super excited to join Ian and the team for 2024. After a really tough 2023 with injuries and many other things, I’m looking forward to trying to bring some enjoyment back into racing.

“The plan is to take it steady and just see how I feel at the first few rounds after my last injury, I’m feeling stronger than I was expecting during testing so I can’t wait to get some more laps out in Spain.

“I’d like to thank Ian and Myra for letting me join on board their team. A huge thank you to all my personal sponsors for getting me here.”

Barnes said: “I am a strong believer in no risk no reward. This is the attitude I will be taking into the 2024 season. I’m looking forward to another season in Supersport and well aware the competition is tough; I am ready for the challenge and to continue improving and securing some strong results.”

Team Owner Ian Newton commented: “We have got an incredible team at INCompetition, that I not only trust, but am reassured that we can have a successful 2024 with Lewis in the BSB Pathway class and Josh in the National Superstock class. They will both no doubt bring the drive and determination to win races. Come rain or shine they will both be very competitive.

“Alongside the Aprilias’ we have Freddie Barnes in the Supersport class on a Yamaha R6. This will only be Freddie’s second year in this class. He is an up-and-coming talented rider with the attitude, grit and determination needed to do well.

“We have a new title sponsor SENCAT and will continue to have the support of our other loyal sponsors. We have the infrastructure needed to operate competitive bikes at all levels, allowing the riders to be able to run at the front and achieve those all-important podiums and wins.”
