Paul Bird very sadly passed away earlier this month following a short illness and this weekend at Oulton Park, the Bennetts British Superbike Championship will pay tribute to the renowned Team Owner of the PBM Team, who formed and led the team to an incredible tally of achievements over two decades.
On Saturday at 12:30pm, members of the BSB paddock community will come on to the starting grid where a minute of silence will be observed, joining Paul’s family and team members. This will be preceded by a tribute conducted by former BSB lead commentator, Mr Fred Clarke.
On Sunday, the pit walk period will be extended to 10.00 – 11.15. There will be a number of PBM championship winning machines displayed adjacent to the BeerMonster Ducati pit box including; Vimto 250cc Honda (John McGuiness), MonsterMob Ducati (Steve Hislop), Stobart Honda (Tom Sykes), Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki (Shane Byrne) and a Be Wiser Ducati (Shane Byrne).
At 11.00 am on Sunday, in the PBM machine display area in the pit lane, MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer will make a personal tribute.
