Triumph Motorcycles and Macadam Racing are joining forces to compete in the 2024 Quattro Group British Supersport Championship. The Macadam Triumph Racing team will field two riders in the ultra-competitive domestic series with the intention of mounting a championship challenge next season aboard Triumph motorcycles.
Having taken over the Appleyard Macadam Racing team, who won an unprecedented four titles in the British Supersport series previously, they are excited to begin the next chapter with a British manufacturer. The team secured a handful of podiums this season in its second year under the ownership of Dave Wadsworth and is now looking to build on that success with Triumph in 2024, utilising the platform of the Street Triple 765.
Triumph is investing in its global motorsport programme and this agreement in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship series further extends that vision for success, especially on home soil. Businessman Wadsworth, Team Owner of the Halifax-based Macadam Racing, is keen to get to work with the new set-up and is fully focussed on extracting the very best out of the squad with this Triumph factory-supported partnership for the 11-round series.
The two-rider Macadam Triumph Racing line-up will be announced in the coming weeks, and winter testing will commence shortly after in preparation for the new season.
Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer said: “We are excited to be partnering with Dave and the Macadam Racing squad, a team that has proven its capability at this level. We know they are a professional outfit that have what it takes to win, and together we are aiming to be at the sharp end of the championship next year. The whole crew behind Macadam Racing have delivered championships in the past, which is important as we start this new chapter together. We’re looking to sign two top riders for the team, and hopefully, an announcement will come shortly.”
Dave Wadsworth, Team Owner, Macadam Triumph Racing added: “This is a really exciting time for us, and we have a huge amount of motivation for 2024. Having enjoyed some success this season, we’re looking forward to the partnership with Triumph and working with the Street Triple 765 base. It has all the credentials we need to succeed in the series, and together we’re looking forward to battling at the front in the Quattro Group British Supersport series.”
