TAG Racing Honda set for Superbike at Brands Hatch with Booth-Amos and Winfield

11 October 2023

The TAG Honda Racing team will double their efforts in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship class this weekend at the Brands Hatch season finale as Tom Booth-Amos replaces Héctor Barberá, who is sidelined through injury following a crash at Donington Park. The team will also line up with a BSB Pathway specification Honda as Shaun Winfield makes a return to the Superbike grid.

Booth-Amos will make his Bennetts BSB debut this weekend in addition to fighting for podiums in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship, whilst Winfield returns on a BSB Pathway specification Superbike after battling in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.

Booth-Amos said: “I’m really looking forward to my first Superbike experience with TAG Honda Racing this weekend. It’s all new to me, and I won’t have had an opportunity to spend I time testing the bike with the team, but I’m hopeful we can shake things up a bit and see how we go. I just want to say a big thank you to Gary, Rob and Tracy for having me for the weekend.”

Winfield said: “After seeing the Pathway specification Honda Fireblade at Oulton Park and speaking to some of the riders, I was interested straight away. The Superstock class is unbelievably competitive and I’ve had some great battles, but with that I am looking forward to taking the leap back onto the Superbike stage. I am confident in the Pathway bike that TAG Honda have built and I can’t wait to get going at Brands Hatch.”

Team Manager Gary Winfield concluded: “There’s no taking away from the fact this year just hasn’t been the season we had hoped for. Héctor has been brilliant throughout with the team, on and off the bike, but we have been unlucky with injury and because of that, the results have not come. Tom Booth-Amos needs no introduction, he is a talented rider and we are delighted to be able to off him his first competitive Superbike experience.”
