The LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team locked out the top positions in this morning’s Bennetts British Superbike Championship warm up session at Knockhill, setting the pace ahead of today’s two races.
Ryde kicked off the races with his first Superbike podium finish and he carried the momentum into warm up, leading by 0.141s at the chequered flag.
Jason O'Halloran made it a Yamaha top three on the times, just ahead of Tommy Bridewell on the leading BeerMonster Ducati as yesterday’s race winner Glenn Irwin waited until the final two minutes of the session to complete a single flying lap.
Lee Jackson was fifth fastest on the Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki, moving ahead of Leon Haslam on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad.
Jack Kennedy was seventh on the times, but the Mar-Train Yamaha rider ended the session with a high-speed crash and although he was up on his feet, he was taken to the medical centre for an assessment.
Danny Buchan was eighth fastest for SYNETIQ BMW as Storm Stacey and Josh Owens completed the top ten.
Josh Brookes also had a crash in this morning’s warm up, the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad rider then forced to watch the final three minutes of the session from the sidelines.
