R&G British Talent Cup: Brinton wins five-rider duel for race two victory at Silverstone

04 August 2023

Amanuel Brinton claimed the victory in an incredibly close second R&G British Talent Cup race at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Yesterday’s race winner Sullivan Mounsey crashed out on the opening lap, ending his charge this weekend, but at the front it was a six-way battle in the leading group at mid race distance.

In the closing stages of the race, it came down to a five-rider duel as they traded positions until the chequered flag. Belford and Brinton were leading the pack, with the lead changing several times each lap until the final dash to the chequered flag. However, Brinton emerged victorious ahead of Belford by just 0.041s.

It was an intense duel for the final podium position too as Lucas Brown completed the top three, but only just ahead of Harley McCabe and Harrison Dessoy who completed the top five, who were covered by just 0.734s.
