Super Sunday at Oulton Park for second round of Bennetts BSB

18 April 2023

The second round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park is set to feature a ‘Super Sunday’ of track activity in Cheshire over the three day May Bank Holiday weekend (April 29 – May 1).

The Milwaukee Spring Grand Slam kicks off at Oulton Park with the Bennetts BikeSocial Sprint Race on Sunday afternoon as the Bennetts BSB riders battle for the chance to win up to £50,000, if they can consecutively win six races across round two and Donington Park for the third round.

If any rider can deliver victories in all six races across the two Spring Grand Slam rounds, they will claim a £50,000 prize. Should a rider win five of the six races, they will claim £25,000, and finally any rider who can celebrate victory four times across the two events will bag a £10,000 prize.

Sunday morning will see Honda take over the Pits Straight with their Honda Free Ride Experience, then as the clock strikes 1200 noon it's six hours of non stop track action beginning with the final free practice session for the Bennetts BSB riders before eBay Qualifying and the first of their three races.

There will also be a new format for qualifying in the Quattro Group British Supersport and Pirelli National Superstock Championships on Sunday at Oulton Park to follow a similar format to Bennetts BSB.

On Saturday following the two combined free practice sessions, the top 18 riders will automatically proceed into Sunday’s Q2 session. Then on Sunday, the remaining riders will participate in Q1 with the top nine in the session graduating into Q2. This final session will see 27 riders take to the track for an intense 15 minute period to decide the first nine rows of the starting grid.

‘Super Sunday’ will feature seven stages of Qualifying across the classes followed by six races during the afternoon to build up for Bank Holiday Monday’s feature raceday.
