Championship leader Jack Kennedy led the way as he stormed to the fastest lap of the day in FP1 to beat Rhys Irwin by 1.402sec.

The Mar-Train Racing rider’s morning lap of 1min 53.219s sealed the deal as rain fell ahead of the second session, and he was one of a number of riders who opted not to go out for FP2.

Irwin – who was fastest in the second session – ended the day second overall, just ahead of Bradley Perie with Lee Johnston fourth.

Jack Scott finished the day in fifth position and was once again top GP2 rider. Harvey Claridge was second quickest of the GP2 runners in 16th place, just two spots ahead of third fastest GP2 man, Harry Rowlings.

Honda British Talent Cup

Johnny Garness powered to the top of the combined timesheets with a best lap of 1min 11.002sec clocked on a drying track in FP2 after the points leader – who could clinch the title this weekend – sat out of the first session.
