Season’s Greetings from Bennetts BSB

Season’s Greetings from Bennetts BSB

19 December 2022

As we head into the festive period and Christmas and the New Year beckon, MSVR would like to thank everyone who supported the 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship from around the world.

We would like to thank all of our fans worldwide for their continued support; the tens of thousands who joined us trackside at each round of the championship and the tens of millions of fans who watched the action through our live and highlights broadcast packages on television. We hope that you enjoyed every minute of the action and the interaction through our social media channels.

We thank all of the riders and teams across the classes, who continue to provide the entertainment and incredible action at every round; their commitment, talent and professionalism continues to make the series widely respected and thrive to become one of the leading motorsport championships in the world.

The 2022 season was one of firsts as Bradley Ray and the OMG Racing team celebrated their first title victories, impressively with the OMG Racing team only joining the series in 2018, showing how hard work and dedication is rewarded in this series thanks to the close competition produced by the current technical regulations.

Over the season there were an impressive ten different race winners and a further three podium finishers, these represented eight different teams and five manufacturers – showing the level of competition at BSB. It shows just how close it is between the teams and manufacturers when the final three riders in the standings represented three different teams and manufacturers too.

We also toast all of our support class champions – Jack Kennedy, Jack Scott, Johnny Garness, Davey Todd, Max Cook, James McManus, David Shoubridge plus Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement. I am also delighted to see four of our support class Champions progress into the Superbike class next season and I wish them the best of luck for the forthcoming season.

Bennetts are a valued title sponsor of the series and we are delighted that we have renewed our partnership with them for a further three years, making them the most dedicated title sponsor in the championship history. We would like to thank them for their commitment to the sport and to giving our fans special loyalty offers through their continued Bennetts BikeSocial membership programme.

Our sincere appreciation also goes out to all our commercial and media partners, who are an integral part of the series.

The Bennetts BSB show would simply not be possible without the race organisation officials, the dedication and skills of the Herock Racesafe marshals and our outstanding medical team, the latter who continue to tireless work in their roles within the NHS and so we thank them for their incredible commitment.

I also want to recognise the achievements of two previous champions who are sadly no longer with us. Chrissy Rouse and Keith Farmer were both popular riders within the series, they will always be fondly remembered and forever be part of the Championship’s history.

We look ahead to next season with anticipation as we countdown to the opening round of 2023, which will kick off at Silverstone on April 7/8/9, following an official test schedule which includes a return to Spain and MSV’s new facility at Navarra.

We can’t wait for 2023 and the return of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as some of the series’ most established contenders line up against some exciting young rookies. It should be a thriller!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Series Director, Bennetts British Superbike Championship
