Amanuel Brinton will make his debut in the Honda British Talent Cup at Brands Hatch with the Mortimer Racing /Victoria House Racing Academy.
Brinton will join the team for the next two rounds after finishing as runner-up in the 2018 Cool FAB Racing series before contesting the Spanish Championship in the Moto4 ESBK Championship finishing tenth overall in 2020.
The 13-year-old currently competes in the Hawkers European Talent Cup representing the Monlau Motul Technical School – Estrella Galicia 00 Team. Brinton currently holds tenth in the championship after a best finish of sixth place at Jerez, 0.3 seconds adrift of the winner.
Brinton said: “Firstly I would like to thank Rich and the team and team for giving me the opportunity to come home to race in the UK. I’m really looking forward to catching up with some of my friends from the Fab Racing Mini Moto/Mini GP days where it all started.
“This will be my first chance to complete in the Honda British Talent Cup and my first time in the BSB paddock. Brands Hatch is a great circuit, which I think should suit my riding style, I am very excited. I would like to thank my main sponsor K-tech Suspension for their support in this event and big thanks to my home team Monlau Motul for their support this season.”
Rich Mortimer, Victoria House Academy Team Principal commented: “I’m delighted to bring Amanuel into the series. His experience, maturity and pace is incredible for a rider of his age and we think he will fit in well alongside teammates Alexander Rowan and Olly Horner.
“Although he is familiar with the Honda NSF 250R, Amanuel’s first challenges will be adapting to the Dunlop tyres and two new tracks to learn, which from what I’ve observed out in Spain he will adjust and learn quickly.”
